Overview
In 2019, 70% of the shares of Gönen Yenilenebilir Enerji Üretim A.Ş., which was established in Gönen, Balıkesir, under the roof of Altaca Enerji in an attempt to produce electricity and organic fertiliser from biogas, were purchased by Toros Tarım. Today, the company continues to operate under the name Toros Gönen Yenilenebilir Enerji Üretim A.Ş. and uses 100% domestic and completely environmentally friendly technologies, which are the fruits of an intensive R&D. The facility, which was selected as the best in the world in its field in 2016 by ADBA (Anaerobic Digestion & Bioresources Association), headquartered in England, has an active role in eliminating the environmental pollution in the region with 400 tonnes/day of organic waste disposal in addition to the economic value it provides.
The facility, which has an installed electricity production capacity of 3.62 MW and an annual solid organic fertiliser production capacity of 15,000 tonnes and liquid organic fertiliser capacity of 10,000 tonnes, has increased its organomineral fertiliser production capacity to 35,000 tonnes per year with the additional investments made after the completion of the share transfer.

Today, where we feel the effects of the climate crisis more and more deeply, we, as humanity, have to build a sustainable development model in order to leave a liveable world to future generations. The “take-make-dispose” linear economy model that currently dominates the world does not promise us a sustainable future. It is now vital that we protect the environment and the quality of life of all people on earth while providing our needs in every sector.

Milestones
2010
In order to produce new technologies in the field of renewable energy, Altaca Enerji A.Ş. is established.
2011
With a strategic decision, Altaca Enerji acquires the patent of the Catliq synthetic petroleum technology developed by a Danish R&D company.
2013
The foundations of the Gönen Yenilenebilir Enerji facility are laid in Gönen, Balikesir.
2015
Turkey’s first integrated biogas and organic fertiliser production facility starts its operations after a ceremonial opening by the then Minister of Energy of Turkey, Taner Yıldız.
2016
Gönen Yenilenebilir Enerji is selected as the best in the world in its field by ADBA (Anaerobic Digestion & Bioresources Association), headquartered in England.
2017
Toros Tarım introduces the first organomineral fertilisers to the market.
2019
Toros Tarım purchases 70% shares of Gönen Yenilenebilir Enerji Üretim A.Ş.
2020
With the additional investments made, the production capacity of organomineral fertilisers increases to 35,000 tonnes per year.
Investor Relations
Although Toros Tarım Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. is not a publicly traded company, an Investor Relations Unit has been established within the Tekfen Agri-Industry Group to ensure that Tekfen Holding shareholders receive complete and timely information on agri-industry activities, which constitute a significant portion of all activities.
This unit has been working in coordination with the Investor Relations and Corporate Governance Coordinatorship, operating under Tekfen Holding, within the framework of the Capital Markets Law since November 2007, when the Holding went public. The aim of the unit is to provide investors and the research assistants working in brokerage firms with information about Tekfen Agri-Industry Group’s activities and to answer the questions these individuals might have in a timely and definitive manner.
